REPORT OF VIVEKANANDA HOUSE ASSEMBLY
TOPIC: EID MUBARAK
Vivekananda House conducted the morning assembly on “Eid” on 17th July 2015, with great enthusiasm. The festival of Eid symbolises virtuousness, peace and brotherhood. The assembly was organised to convey the significance of this pious festival to the students. The children began the assembly with an interesting thought for the day and news. They informed the gathering about the history of this festival and its relevance in the present time. Students spoke about the ways in which the festival is celebrated.
Eid al-Fitr is also called the Feast of Breaking the Fast. It is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.This joyful and blissful day is celebrated to thank Almighty for his blessings in the holy month of Ramadan.Muslims of all age groups wear new clothes, cook delicious and tasty food and invite relatives, neighbours and friends to celebrate the auspicious day. Muslims fast in the month of Ramadan. It encourages sympathy for needy and hungry. It also motivates Muslims for donating very generously to all underprivileged. According to Muslim belief, they are commanded by Almighty God to do the fasting until the conclusion of Ramadan as mentioned in Holy Quran and also pay Zakat-al-fitr before offering the Eid prayer.
A foot tapping dance number was performed by the students. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
