SPECIAL ASSEMBLY REPORT
CLASSES: I B and II B
The students of I-B and II -B got an opportunity to conduct the special assembly on Gandhi Jayanti on 26th September 2016.The assembly started with a word of prayer followed by the news headlines and thought for the day.
“Be the change you want to see in the world.”
2nd October marks the birth anniversary of MahatmaGandhi who changed the course of modern Indian history and politics. The students made the audience aware that it is also the birth anniversary of ShriLalBahadurShastri,the third Prime Minister of India.
Students enacted three major freedom movements initiated by Gandhiji.The first movement was Non- Co – operation movement which was a non-violent protest against the use of British made goods by Indians. The children depicted this movement by throwing British made clothes into the fire. The second movement was Salt Satyagraha which was a protest against the salt tax imposed by the Britishers in India. The third movement was Quit India Movement in the year 1942 in which Gandhiji asked Britishers to quit India. This was the most powerful movement which invoked the feeling of nationalism amongst the masses and it was in this movement that Gandhiji coined the term “Do or Die”.
Students presented a bhajanRaghupatiRaghav Raja Ram which mesmerized everyone. Incharge Ma’am elaborated on the topic and interacted with the students. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
