HEALTH IS WEALTH
The students of class III-D conducted the morning assembly on ‘HEALTH IS WEALTH’ on 10th September,2015.
The assembly began with the morning prayer, followed by the news headlines and the thought for the day “ To ensure good health : eat lightly, breathe deeply, live moderately, cultivate cheerfulness, and maintain an interest in life.” ~William Londen
Students enlightened everybody about the various nutrients that are needed by our body to be healthy. Students of III D spoke about the importance of different nutrients like Proteins , Carbohydrates , Fats ,Vitamins and Minerals. The role of Water and Roughage in our diet was also highlighted. Students carried placards showing the various sources of the different nutrients. The students were sensitized about the ill effects of increasing intake of junk food by young children and how it is affecting their health and leading to obesity. The topic was summed up in the form of a poem –“ healthy food”. Students were given tips to prevent dengue. Students did Zumba Fitness workout which is an integral part of morning assembly.
In the end our Primary Incharge, talked to the students about the importance of Balanced diet and about the ill effects of consuming junk food .She also emphasized on the importance of keeping our surroundings clean.
The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
