ASSEMBLY REPORT I-B
The students of class I B conducted a morning assembly on the topic Janmashtami on 22nd August 2016.It started with a word of prayer followed by the news headlines and the thought for the day.
“A gift is pure when it is given from the heart to the right person at the right time and at the right place and when we expect nothing in return.”
The students enlightened the audience that Janmashtami is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. On the occasion of Janmashtami, Hindu temples are decorated with flowers and lights. The idol of Lord Krishna is bathed with panchamrit.Thispanchamrit is distributed as prasadto the devotees. On this occasion the devotees worship Lord Krishna by singing bhajans.Many people fast for the whole day and break their fast only at midnight, when Lord Krishna is thought to have been born. In many parts of India, especially Maharashtra, it is also known as DahiHandi festival. People make a human tower to break a pot of butter hanging on the top.
Studentspresented a melodious bhajan ‘Krishna JinkaNaamHai’.Incharge Ma’am elaborated upon the topic and interacted with the students. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
