ASSEMBLY REPORT ON MAHASHIVRATRI
CLASS I – F
Class I-F conducted the assembly on Mahashivratri on 08.2.16. The assembly started by remembering the Almighty God. It was followed by a beautiful bhajan on Lord Shiva in which the whole class participated.
Students recited a shloka to invoke Lord Shiva. They wished the audience that
“May the Almighty Lord Shiva bless you on Shivratri with all good things and perfect health to you and your family”.
The news was read out. Children were asked to be attentive as the assembly was interactive.
Students were made aware of the different names of Lord Shiva like Mahadeva, Mahayogi, and Natraja etc. Elaborate description was given on the way Lord Shiva dresses and that he travels on his vehicle bull called Nandi.
Finally children were told how Shivratri is celebrated. Devotees keep fast and offer water, milk and bael leaves on Linga. Men folk drink lots of thandai, sing songs in praise of Lord Shiva and dance to the rhythm of drums.
As it was an interactive assembly. questions were asked from time to time to the audience. Many children came up on stage to give the correct answer.
The assembly concluded with a poem followed by the National Anthem.
