Topic: Ozone Day
A morning assembly was presented bythe students of Class III C on the topic “Ozone Day” on 22nd September 2016. The assembly started with the morning prayer followed by the news headlines and the thought for the day.
“We won’t have a society if we destroy the environment”
Students of Class III C made the audience aware that Ozone day is celebrated on 16th September every year. It was designated by the United Nations General Assembly as the International Day for the preservation of the Ozone layer. Children talked about the importance of the ozone layer and how it is getting depleted and is in danger due to the human activities.Ozone layer depletion is one of the most serious problems faced by our planet Earth. They told the audience that Ozone layer protects us from harmful Ultra Violet rays which can cause skin cancer, cataract, and many other diseases. They told that it is getting depleted mainly due to the synthetic chemical CFC which is used in refrigerator and air conditioning systems. CFC’scause almost 80 percent of the total ozone layer depletion. It is also one of the prime reasons which are leading to global warming.
A poem was presented by a group of students titled “Vatavarankoswachhbanao”. Through this poem learners threw light on the significance of the environment in our life.
Our Primary InchargeMsSweetyDhingra addressed the audience on the theme.
The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
