TOPIC-POLLUTION A MENACE
On 24th October 2019, students of Class IV-D presented an assembly on the topic ‘Pollution a Menace’
The assembly started withthe morning prayer followed by the news headlines.The audience listened attentively to the thought for the day.
‘Keep your face always toward the sunshine – and shadows will fall behind you.”
The students enlightened the audience about harmful effects of Global Warming and pollution. Students shared some facts that by 2050 that India can become a water scarce country because of this reason. Students also spoke about some easy ways which we as responsible citizens can adopt to control pollution such as:
• Adopting car pool system.
• Turning off lights when they are not needed and not wasting electricity to reduce the demand for energy.
• Recycle glass bottles jars, steel and aluminum cans, and plastic bottles.
• Walking or cycling whenever possible , as it does not create any pollution
A skit based on the theme was presented by the students. The skit showcased the importance of keeping the environment greenand pollution free.Children recited a thought provoking poem on our duties towards Mother Earth, the resulting effect, when humans try to modify nature for their own selfish needs
To encourage the students to opt for a greenerDiwali, students took the following pledge
“We the students of Summer Fields School pledge not to burn the crackers and keep our city clean and pollution free’,
The Primary In charge Ms. S. Dhingra interacted with the students. She saidthat the students have to take the onus of keeping the Earth clean and this task has to begin from the school itself. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
