Academic Session 2015-2016
Class I-C conducted an assembly on Raksha Bandhan on August 24’2015. The assembly commenced with remembering God and thanking the Almighty. This was followed by the thought of the day:
“Shared joy is double joy
Shared sorrow is half a sorrow.”
After this, the news headlines were read out. The students of class I-C made the audience aware that the festival is celebrated on a full moon day in the month of Shravan according to the Hindu calendar and highlights the relationship between brothers and sisters.
It was also explained that Rakhi is a woven thread which is tied on the brother’s wrist by the sister who in return promises to protect her and also gives her a gift. The sister prays for the prosperity and well being of her brother. The festival is not only celebrated in India but also the Indians living in other countries like U.K., Saudi Arabia, Australia and Nepal with great vigour.
The assembly was interactive wherein the audience were asked questions related to the assembly. It was concluded with the National Anthem.
