SOCIAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT
Teacher enrichment programme was conducted by the Social Science Department on 25th March 2017. Four teachers presented their topic which was followed by healthy interaction and question answer session. The topics chosen for the workshop were as follows:
- River Erosion : Presentation on this topic was given by Priyanka Choudhary, emphasis was laid on the fact how a river acts as an agent of erosion and how it sculpts the earth’s surface into reliefs of varying categories and intensity.
- Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive Development : Presented by Akanksha taneja explaining a child’scognitive development as a four stage process which includes detailed observational studies of cognition in children.
- Federalism: Presentation on the topic was given by Ritika Dutta. Focus was laid on India as a federal country, explaining the features of federalism, and contradictory unitary biasness of India as a federation.
- Learning and evaluating without burden : The topic was presented by Susan Jose where the focus was on encouraging independence of thought, different styles of framing questions for critical thinking and how to make social science relevant by nurturing citizens with values of accomodation.
The programme was interesting, highly infomative and interactive.
