“Van Mahotsav – A festival of trees”
Class assembly on ‘Van mahotsav- a festival of trees’ was conducted by the students of class IV-E on 6th July 2017 to develop green consciousness among students.
The assembly began with the prayer followed by an interesting thought for the day:-
“We are using resources as if we had two planets, not one. There can be no plan B because there is no planet B. Save the trees. Save the planet. We are the guardians of nature’s birth.”
This was followed by the news headlines. Children informed the gathering about the history of this festival and its relevance in the present time. Children presented a very interesting skit in Hindi to spread awareness about the importance and the need of trees in our life, and what future will be like if no major steps are taken to save trees now. The focus of the assembly was towards forming a personal connect between the students and trees through a process of experience, reflection and creation. The assembly helped to bring awareness about the green cover around us. It also helped in strengthening the bond between plants and humans. Students learnt the importance of planting trees and saving the environment. The assembly was addressed by our Primary Incharge Ms. S. Dhingra followed by the National Anthem.
