Summer Fields School, Kailash Colony, organized a ‘Special Guest Lecture’ on G-20 Summit on 26th April, 2023 from 9.45 a.m. to 10.45 a.m. for the students of VI to XII . The special guest speaker was Mr. Muktesh Pardeshi, who is currently a special secretary of G-20 India, Ministry of External Affairs. The Chairman of the School, Mr. Inder Dev Gupta and the Principal, Ms. Geeta Karunakaran welcomed Mr. Pardeshi with the token of love and gratitude. Mr. Pardeshi addressed the gathering with a beautiful quote ‘Life is all about negotiations’ stating the role and responsibilities of a diplomat. He made students understand by giving real life and Indian mythological examples. He shared significant information about the role, responsibility and agenda of the G-20 summit. He elucidated about ‘The Group of 20’ which is an intergovernmental forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union (EU), and how it works to address major issues related to the global economy, such as international financial stability, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development. Mr. Pardeshi also talked about G-20’s Pan India character and prime minister Mr. Narendar Modi’s vision for G-20’s presidency. He encouraged students with his words of wisdom during the question-and-answer session. Overall, it was indeed a very informative and interactive session for all the students and faculty members. It was also a great initiative taken by our school Principal Ms. Geeta Karunakaran who is a constant guiding force for the whole Summer Fields family.
