In a splendid confluence of patriotic zeal and cultural opulence, Summer Fields School reverently celebrated the 79th Independence Day on August 14, 2025. The event unfolded with unparalleled magnificence on the school premises, paying homage to the indomitable spirit of India’s freedom fighters.
The momentous occasion was graced by the benign presence of the honourable Chief Guest, Air Commodore Manish Sabharwal (VSM), along with other distinguished guests. The program began with the solemn flag hoisting ceremony followed by the National Anthem instilling deep patriotism among all present.
Greeting the illustrious gathering, the Principal, Mrs. Shalini Agarwal delivered a profound and inspiring welcome address. She spoke with deep pride and emotion, reminding all that Independence Day is not merely a ritual celebration but a sacred occasion to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and to renew our commitment towards national unity and integrity. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Air Commodore Manish Sabharwal (VSM) for gracing the occasion and inspiring young minds with his presence. Air Commodore Manish Sabharwal (VSM), in his address, shared inspiring anecdotes from his distinguished career in service, emphasizing values such as discipline, courage and duty to the nation.
The event resonated with the percussion instruments and echoed with the patriotic fervour and zeal to set the emotional tone for the occasion. The “Pride of India” dance and the patriotic hymn were a vibrant homage to India’s cultural heritage. The Hindi skit creatively portrayed the theme of Jallianwala Bagh massacre in its full form. The skit aimed at sensitising the audience about the actual pain and struggles which Indians had undergone before the independence and succeeded in conveying the crucial message of patriotism and national spirit. Another heart-warming dance presentation, titled “Love for the Country,” deeply moved the audience with its emotive choreography. The programme culminated with a graceful vote of thanks by the Deputy Head Boy and Head Girl.
