Summer Fields School, Greater Kailash, in its commitment to nurturing holistic growth, assiduously paves the way for its students to excel in every sphere. Upholding this spirit of building an intellectual community guided by humanity, the school once again successfully hosted its prestigious Model United Nations conference on 7th and 8th August 2025, demonstrating its legacy of educational excellence.
The Inauguration Ceremony marked the commencement of an event with pomp and grandeur. The distinguished presence of Mr. Tràn Thanh Túng, Counsellor and Head of the Political, Economic and Cultural Section at the Embassy of Viet Nam, as the esteemed Chief Guest, along with the Principal, Mrs. Shalini Agarwal, added an aura of prestige to the occasion.
The auspicious opening ceremony commenced with a welcome song setting the tone for the rest of the function, which was further enriched with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. The Principal graced the stage and delivered an insightful speech on the significance of the Model United Nations.
More than 400 students from various schools participated enthusiastically in the event under the guidance of the MUN Coordinator, Ms. Pratibha Chauhan; the HOD of Social Science, Dr. Purnima Mattu; and other faculty members of the Social Science Department. The event featured a total of seven committees, namely: LOK SABHA, UNGA, IWC, UNSC, UNCOPUOS, ECOSOC, and IP. It was an inspiring journey of learning, teamwork, and growth for all the participants.
The Closing Ceremony was graciously presided over by the Principal, Mrs. Shalini Agarwal and Academic Auditor, Mr. Ashok Arora, who presented the prizes to the winners. The proceedings concluded with the formal declaration of the event’s closure by the Secretary General, Mr. Navyam Anand.
Standing tall in integrity and being the host, Summer Field School chose not to compete for ‘The Best School Delegation Award’, which was bagged by Bluebells School International, Greater Kailash, New Delhi. Nevertheless, Summer Fields School participants won several prizes under various categories which was truly commendable.
The vote of thanks was then proposed by USG Conference Affairs, Mr Aditya Singh and USG Delegate Affairs, Mr. Shourya Sharma.
We express our gratitude to our honourable Chairman Shri Inder Dev Gupta, the Director Mr. Rahul Gupta and the Principal, Mrs Shalini Agarwal for being the driving force behind all our endeavours. Their constant guidance and encouragement inspire the Summerites to attain greater heights of success.
