On September 2, 2024; the students of V-C and V-D conducted a Special Assembly on the topic ‘Bharat Utsav’ to celebrate India’s rich cultural diversity, unity and traditions. The assembly aimed to celebrate India’s diversity, showcasing diverse traditions and foster a sense of national pride among students.
The program commenced with a warm welcome of the Principal and parents, emphasizing the importance of celebrating our cultural heritage. This was followed by a series of captivating performances, including musical symphony on ‘Pyara Hindustan’, folk dance with classical touch on ‘Jiya Se Jiya’ song, western musical harmony on ‘We Are Unity’ song, group folk dance with a touch of ‘Bharatnatyam’ on ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumara’ song displaying the harmony of different states and a pledge to promise to preserve our culture. Students participated in the performances with great enthusiasm, showcasing their talents. The audience was mesmerized by the vibrant costumes, energetic performances and heartfelt renditions.
The highlight of the event was the dance performance, wherein students brought the entire audience to a nostalgic drive by reviving memories of the Mile Sur Mera Tumara song, when it used to be telecast on ‘Doordarshan’. To present unity in diversity, students have showcased traditional attire from different states and regions of India. The audience was treated to a visual feast of colours, fabrics and designs highlighting the rich cultural diversity. The students’ cartwheels added a playful touch to the performance.
The honourable Principal, in her speech, emphasized the importance of preserving cultural traditions and promoting unity in diversity. Students were encouraged to take pride in their cultural heritage and work towards national integration by following rules to be responsible citizens. The assembly concluded with a vote of thanks by the Primary Coordinator, followed by the National Anthem.
