Students of today are the visionaries and torch- bearers of tomorrow. Nurturing students to be future leaders, Summer Fields School, Kailash Colony held its Investiture Ceremony on 28 July 2023 to bestow the deserving students of the senior wing with the responsibility of leading the school with honour. The Chief Guest, Ms. Gowri Ishwaran , Founder Principal of Sanskriti School , Consultant to Shiv Nadar Foundation graced the occasion. The event was celebrated with high eclat.
The ceremony commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp amidst the chanting of the heavenly shlokas, followed by the mesmerizing school anthem. The esteemed Principal ma’am, Mrs. Geeta Karunakaran welcomed our respected Chief Guest, Ms. Gowri Ishwaran, a multifaceted personality, with utmost pleasure. Ms. Gowri addressed the gathering and emphasised upon the significance of being compassionate and peaceful. She opined that a true leader always inspires and success has three components- empathy and compassion, sincerity and hard work. Her impressionable words did leave an impact on the students, parents and the teachers. This was followed by an English song, entitled,‘ Counting stars’ by the school choir. The spell binding and inspirational English song was applauded by one and all present.
Principal ma’am, Mrs. Geeta Karunakaran applauded the students who had distinguished themselves through hard work, grit and determination. She reiterated the importance of fostering inclusive environment. The elected appointees were invested with their respective designations, followed by the swearing-in ceremony, as the proud parents and teachers cheered on. It was indeed a proud moment for the parents to see the young students receiving their honours. She further encouraged the young students to be go-getters and carry forward the progressive values, keeping the banner of Summer Fields School flying high.
A mesmerizing and vibrant group dance performance to celebrate our diversity was presented.Our Chief Guest shared her school memories and encouraged students to gear up with all the opportunities provided by the school. She suggested that we should focus on our health also as ‘healthy minds live in healthy bodies.’
The event culminated with a Vote of Thanks by the Head boy and the Head girl followed by the national anthem.
